Helping Hand. In other words if anyone who has offered a Helping Hand could use a bit of help themselves, we want to be there to assist them as well. The biggest barrier to that however, is asking. So let me break the ice here! I could really use some help! The issue is termites. My termite control company closed shop a few years ago, but gave me a super treatment when they said good bye. But now it's time to have my place treated again. Professional help is beyond my resources, so laying down a do-it-yourself chemical barrier is the way to go. To do so a 6" wide and 6" deep trench needs to be dug around the foundation of the house, a chemical barrier applied to it, and then it covered back up. Solo it could be done on a very long day. With a Helping Hand, it could be done in a couple of hours. So here's the plan. We'll meet a my home, Sunday morning, August 8th, at 9am. After some tailgating food and fellowship, we'll go in two directions. Those that are up for it - can start trenching around the house. Those opting for a less vigorous morning - can come inside and organize toiletries and other things for our next Homeless Outreach. Afterwards we can all eat and fellowship some more. Our location is 314 Montrose St., Winter Springs. From Oviedo go north and west on SR 434. After crossing under the Greenway overpass go 5.5 miles and turn right on Sheoah Blvd. which is opposite Winter Springs Elementary. Then take the fourth right off Sheoah onto 3rd St. and the first left onto MacGregor Rd. The second right is Montrose St. with 314 the second house on the right. You may park along the street. Good things to bring are shovels for trenching and any small toiletry items you can collect or purchase for the homeless before then. If you have any questions or need further directions, please call or email Bill above. |
